Natural Ingredients For The Win!

I get it, it’s cold out there. There are many cool things that come with the cold (see what I did there?) But it can often be harsh for your skin and face, causing it to feel dry and rough. I personally have very sensitive skin on top of it all, so when it comes to choosing products to use, it can get tricky. There are three products I’ve been using lately that I’ve been super pleased with, and bonus! – they all use natural ingredients.  Two of these products were introduced to me by a couple of wonderful, mindful friends. Keep reading to learn more about these new faves of mine!

Homemade Facial Cream Cleanser

Okay, so this one I made myself, right here at home. It reminds me of an all natural Noxema of sorts. I’ve been reading a lot about using oil cleansing methods for your skin. After all, oil cleans oil, right? I wanted to give this a try, and I’m so glad I did.

I’ve been using this for over a month, and it has really helped keep my face hydrated and, dare I say, glowing.  I use it once in the evening about 4 times a week, alternating in a regular face wash and a scrub on the other days. Another positive – it smells sooooo good (thanks to essential oils). Here is the super easy recipe and the reasonably priced ingredients:

Mix it all together – you can even throw it all in a blender for an extra creamy texture.

When using, I take a small scoop out and massage it into my face. Then rinse and pat dry.  Now, it might not be for everyone and I’m sure it’s not. But if you’re up for trying it out, give it a shot! You might be surprised.

Grateful For Mindful Friends

One of my good friends here in town spoils me at Christmas time and makes me a batch of her homemade Christmas facial scrub. It smells sooooo good, like winter!!

Using just a few simple ingredients, she crafts a scrub for my face that I can’t get enough of and makes my skin glow. My face feels extra hydrated and moisturized after I use it. I’ve never been able to use many scrubs because they’ve been harsh and drying for my skin – but not this one! And she let me in on her ingredients which I’m sharing below , thanks B!

Ingredients:

That’s it! She mixes these all together and places it all in a little jar, and voila! Give this a try! You won’t be disappointed.

MyMatcha Stick

Another good (and mindful) friend in town introduced me to MyMatcha All-Over Moisture Stick,  and my world has been forever changed. I’ve been using blistex since I was 13, and now I use this as a lip balm and it’s been incredible! This little gem can be used on any dry spots on the face or even under the eyes. It’s main ingredients are bees wax, matcha, and coconut oil. You can purchase at Whole Foods Market or online here. Have I been living under a rock? I’m so grateful to you, K! Thank you for introducing me to this!

Grateful Vibes

I hope you enjoy trying out these these products, I’d love to hear what you think. Needless to say, I’m grateful for my good friends and how conscious they are about what they use on and for their bodies. They are not only good friends, but good moms; as their choices about what they use trickles down to their kids – encouraging mindful decisions at a young age.
