Sign Sign Everywhere A Sign

If you know me, you know I’m a big fan of wall signs. I have them sprinkled all throughout my home. I find them to be inspirational and lighthearted. I feel they add a little bit of fun and personality to any space. Not only that, but so many of them are quite atheistically pleasing – whether it’s the font size, the frame, the colors – it can all really tie a space together so well!

Through the years, I’ve not only purchased several wall signs, but I’ve also made my own. The good news is you don’t have to spend a fortune either way. Read on to learn about some of my favorite signs and techniques for creating them. Then get creative and have some fun with them around your home!

DO IT YOURSELF SIGNS

Printable Sign
Okay, it doesn’t get easier than this. You literally just create a simple statement using an oversized font on 8.5 x 11 paper, print it out on your home printer…and voila!

Add a big, bold frame, place it in the perfect location in your home, and you have yourself an original, fun, lighthearted sign…with minimal cost and time on your part! As a mom of three boys, this gentle reminder can’t hurt!

Letterboards
Believe me when I tell you, you are creative. You can have so much fun creating your own little sign all by yourself! A popular one I love to use is a felt letterboard, it has a little bit of a throwback vibe.

You can purchase these on line on Amazon , or even local craft stores and Home Goods stores carry them (more on Home Goods later). These letterboards come with an assortment of letters and characters that allow you to create your own message. Whether you like daily messages or silly sayings, it’s very quick and easy to switch around. Or, if you want to say something meaningful and inspirational, you can just perch this board up on a mantle and leave it there for a while.

Personalized Sign party!
A couple years ago a good friend of mine started doing sign parties. People would pay a reasonable flat fee, and she would come to your house, with materials, and demonstrate how to create your own sign. Then, people would have the freedom to get creative with colors and layouts. It was not only a fun way to make a personalized sign, but also a great way to have a girls night and catch up with friends.

You can visit your local craft store and buy blank pre-made wooden signs, and grab some paint, stencils or decals and get to work. Maybe even host your own sign party!

ETSY

Wall decals make amazing signs. They are fun, colorful, and easy to apply and remove. Etsy.com has a huge assortment of great shops that can personalize an original wall decal for you.

Kids rooms are a great space to use these. They can compliment your kids personalities and add a fun splash of color on the wall. Depending on the size of the decal, the price can range from $15-$40, very reasonable.

HOME GOODS

It’s a blessing and a curse to have a Home Goods store right in my town! Because they always have something I love! They definitely have a nice variety of wall signs for your home.

They pretty much have a cute little saying for every space you can think of. And they’re just pleasing to look at. Some of them have bold frames, some a little simpler. You can really decide the statement you’d like to make. The prices are great and the selections are endless, have fun with it!

SMALL WOOD HOMES

You guys, Smallwoodhome.com is the best site to peruse and place an order (or two or three!) Plus, they always have great deals and sales going on! Their style is unique and agreeable for all personalities and styles.

You’ll definitely find something you like that will be just the right touch for your space, and they are FUN!

Signs are everywhere – sometimes they are metaphoric, and sometimes they are literal. Go ahead and get a smile with the literal ones!
