Cool As Ice

Looking for a simple, cute and cool winter activity? (With or without kiddos?) Well look no further my friends! This is a super easy project using just pieces of nature and items around the house, so it’s so achievable; and the outcome is adorable. For months I have been wanting to try and make another ice wreath, and with the colder weather coming it will all be possible once again! Read on to learn how you can create one, too!

Things You Will Need:
– Freezing temperatures outside (lol!)
– A baking pan or container, preferably something with a center cutout to achieve that wreath look.

– Nature sprigs and twigs from your recent hike.
– A couple things from home to keep it organic, like citrus.
– Optional flower to add a bold touch.

Here Are The Steps:
– Fill your pan or container about 2/3 full of water.
– Then have fun adding your pieces of nature and fruits.

– Bring outside to freeze! I kept mine up high on a table so little visitors or my pup wouldn’t get to it.

I let mine freeze overnight, but probably didn’t need it to go that long, because brrrrr, it’s fa-reezing around here.
– Once frozen, gently turn upside down and tap out.

– Find some sweet little twine or ribbon to hang.

– Then pick the perfect spot!

I chose to place my ice wreath right on my back deck railing, so I can look at it all day long from the kitchen.

Now go ahead and have fun with this! You don’t need to use my materials, think out of the box and get creative! Maybe a square container, maybe add birdseed and make a cute bird feeder to hang. Decorate your yard – because it’s fun and therapeutic to be out there – and we can add some sweet and natural decor to that outdoor space! Or bring it to a neighbor and decorate their yard. The options are endless! I’d love to see your creations, too, so please keep me posted!
